Detailed Itinerary

Will be picked up from your accommodation and drive across a beautiful and scenic Masai Steppe to Makuyuni junction and take left along the Arusha – Dodoma Highway towards Tarangire National Park, a drive that will take only 2 hours at most. Arrive at the gate of the park at Tarangire and after your driver has sorted out the paperwork you start game drives almost straight away from the gate in a bid to see as many animals and birds as possible.

Tarangire is known for two aspects, large baobabs and the largest herds of elephants but there is more to visiting the park than just that. The park hosts a lot of migratory big game and small animals ( that migrate between here and Manyara) but also a lot of birdlife including some very rare and almost indigenous only to this park-like the Ashy Starlings for example.

Your professional safari guide will take you to the best wildlife-spotting areas.

Early morning breakfast at around 0700am. After breakfast, we leave the accommodation and proceed to Serengeti National Park with a packed hot lunch via the Ngorongoro Crater Rim viewing game en route.

Serengeti National Park is a vast treeless plain with thousands, even millions of animals searching for fresh grasslands. As the largest national park in Tanzania, the Serengeti attracts thousands of tourists each year.

The best months for wildlife viewing are between December and June. The wet season is from March to May, with the coldest period from June to October. The annual migration of millions of zebra and wildebeests takes place in May or early June.

This migration is one of the most impressive natural events and the primary draw for many tourists.

Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Seronera Campsite.

We spend this full day in Serengeti National Park exploring morning and afternoon game drives.

Serengeti National Park is Tanzania’s oldest and most popular National Park also a world heritage and one of the best wildlife sanctuary sites and recently proclaimed a 7th worldwide wonder. Serengeti is famous for its annual migration this offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa.

The Park is believed to be the second after the Ruaha national park, to hold the largest population of lions in Africa due to the abundance of prey species.

The park also supports many further species including leopard, Elephant, Cheetah, Buffalo, Zebra, Wildebeest, Eland, Wild dog, Gazelles, Crocodiles, and many more games. A lot of birds including the Eurasia migrants are recorded here.

Early morning game drive in Serengeti National Park later on we return back to the lodge for breakfast. We leave the camp and drive with packed lunch game viewing en route to Ngorongoro Crater Rim. Located between the Serengeti and Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Conservation Area is home to the famous volcanic Ngorongoro Crater and one of Tanzania’s most popular wildlife viewing areas.

This huge volcanic crater has a permanent supply of water which draws all kinds of animals who stay in this area rather than migrate. Visitors come here primarily for viewing large games and bird watching, but also of interest in the conservation area is the Olduvai Gorge. This important archeological site has revealed ancient skull and bone fragments that have delivered critical information about early mankind.

Dinner & overnight at Ngorongoro Simba  Campsite. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Early morning breakfast then we descend to the Crater floor with our lunch for a game drive. Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact ancient caldera in the world, nearly three million years old. It is said that the Ngorongoro volcano was one of the world’s tallest mountains before it exploded and collapsed.

Thousands of wild game can be seen on the crater floor, including lions, elephants, rhinos, Thomson’s gazelles, and buffaloes, but wildebeests and zebras account for over half of the animals that call the Ngorongoro Crater home.

Bird watching is superb, especially around Lake Magadi, which attracts flocks of flamingoes to the shallows.

After exploring the crater we have lunch at the picnic site in the Crater at Ngoitoktok swamp a Hippo pool. Thereafter we continue with game viewing while ascending the Crater and driving back to Arusha arriving in the evening.

You will be dropped off either at your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport.Early morning breakfast then we descend to the Crater floor with our lunch for a game drive.
