Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Will be picked up from your accommodation and drive across a beautiful and scenic Masai Steppe to Makuyuni junction and take left along the Arusha – Dodoma Highway towards Tarangire National Park, a drive that will take only 2 hours at most. Arrive at the gate of the park at Tarangire and after your driver has sorted out the paperwork you start game drives almost straight away from the gate in a bid to see as many animals and birds as possible.
Tarangire is known for two aspects, large baobabs and the largest herds of elephants but there is more to visiting the park than just that. The park hosts a lot of migratory big game and small animals ( that migrate between here and Manyara) but also a lot of birdlife including some very rare and almost indigenous only to this park-like the Ashy Starlings for example.
Destinations: Tarangire National Park
Accommodations: Sunbright tented lodge or Fig tree lodge or twiga campsite
Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
Early morning breakfast at around 0700am. After breakfast, we leave the accommodation and proceed to Serengeti National Park with a packed hot lunch via the Ngorongoro Crater Rim viewing game en route.
Serengeti National Park is a vast treeless plain with thousands, even millions of animals searching for fresh grasslands. As the largest national park in Tanzania, the Serengeti attracts thousands of tourists each year.
The best months for wildlife viewing are between December and June. The wet season is from March to May, with the coldest period from June to October. The annual migration of millions of zebra and wildebeests takes place in May or early June.
This migration is one of the most impressive natural events and the primary draw for many tourists.
Destinations: Serengeti National Park
Accommodations: Seronera campsite
Day 3: Serengeti National Park Game Drive
We spend this full day in Serengeti National Park exploring morning and afternoon game drives.
Serengeti National Park is Tanzania’s oldest and most popular National Park also a world heritage and one of the best wildlife sanctuary sites and recently proclaimed a 7th worldwide wonder. Serengeti is famous for its annual migration this offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa.
The Park is believed to be the second after the Ruaha national park, to hold the largest population of lions in Africa due to the abundance of prey species.
The park also supports many further species including leopard, Elephant, Cheetah, Buffalo, Zebra, Wildebeest, Eland, Wild dog, Gazelles, Crocodiles, and many more games. A lot of birds including the Eurasia migrants are recorded here.
Destinations: Serengeti National Park
Accommodations: Seronera campsite
Day 4:Serengeti then Ngorongoro
Early morning game drive in Serengeti National Park later on we return back to the lodge for breakfast. We leave the camp and drive with packed lunch game viewing en route to Ngorongoro Crater Rim. Located between the Serengeti and Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Conservation Area is home to the famous volcanic Ngorongoro Crater and one of Tanzania’s most popular wildlife viewing areas.
This huge volcanic crater has a permanent supply of water which draws all kinds of animals who stay in this area rather than migrate. Visitors come here primarily for viewing large games and bird watching, but also of interest in the conservation area is the Olduvai Gorge. This important archeological site has revealed ancient skull and bone fragments that have delivered critical information about early mankind.
Destinations: Ngorongoro Crater
Accommodations: Simba campsite
Day 5: Ngorongoro crater then Arusha
Early morning breakfast then we descend to the Crater floor with our lunch for a game drive. Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact ancient caldera in the world, nearly three million years old. It is said that the Ngorongoro volcano was one of the world’s tallest mountains before it exploded and collapsed.
Thousands of wild game can be seen on the crater floor, including lions, elephants, rhinos, Thomson’s gazelles, and buffaloes, but wildebeests and zebras account for over half of the animals that call the Ngorongoro Crater home.
Bird watching is superb, especially around Lake Magadi, which attracts flocks of flamingoes to the shallows.
After exploring the crater we have lunch at the picnic site in the Crater at Ngoitoktok swamp a Hippo pool. Thereafter we continue with game viewing while ascending the Crater and driving back to Arusha arriving in the evening.
You will be dropped off either at your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport.Early morning breakfast then we descend to the Crater floor with our lunch for a game drive. Je recommande a 100%!!Hichem B2022-09-28An Incredible journey in Serengeti It was a great experience for me maybe the best trip of my life so far especially with mr Humphrey ! Thanks to the experience of the driver, we saw the maximum of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro.10 days on safari.Tomáš K2022-09-10Excellent 10-day safari tour for photographers This time it wasn’t necessary to spend nights reading all safari companies reviews on internet because I directly contacted Cubs Expeditions that I had an excellent experience in January this year. And again I can say it was a really great choice. The safari itself was really extraordinary, specially for me as a photographer. Now we realised 10-days safari tour. We met our guide and driver Mr. Amani again and it was proved true again that he is a real gemstone among guides, experienced and doing his job by his heart. He is very attentive to needs of his clients and for me as a photographer, it was perfect because he was very patient and stopping on spots really good for photographing. Based on his experience, he knows what positions are the best for making the best pictures. Specially in the North Serengeti where we were observing the big migration of animals near Mara river. So going with him is like being in a photographer’s paradise. I also have to mention our chef Halidi. He was preparing very tasty and creative meals and portions were huge, no one was starving. So again, I can honestly recommend going to safari with Cubs Expeditions. Note: These photos were taken on mobile phone.Petr P.2022-09-10Extraordinary 10-day safari Second time this year with Cubs Expeditions and I am satisfied again. This September tour was different in comparison with the January one because of other season and also due to different locations. Everything was perfectly arranged again. This time we did 10-day safari, again with an excellent guide and driver Mr. Amani. Visiting the North Serengeti with climbing of Ol Donyo Lengai volcano and observing the big migration of animals was stunning. Then we went to Central Serengeti where we saw completely different scenery than in January, lions and cheetahs hunting zebras and antelopes, hyenas and vultures waiting for the rest of the catch. Cold climate in Ngorongoro offered us a spectacular variety of animals as well. And visiting Hadzabe and Datooga tribes was also great. Our chef Halidi was preparing really tasty meals and no one was starving. This 10-day safari tour was really extraordinary and again I can recommend going to safari with Cubs Expeditions.NachoGebruiker2022-09-09Mt Meru 3 days climb We did the Mt Meru hike and a 5-day safari with Cubs Expedition. Emmanuel was our mountain guide and he was great and very professional with a lot of experience. He was very patient with us and adapted to our pace and always watched out for our safety and well-being. He also had a lot of knowledge about the mountain, the wildlife and he told us many interesting things about Mt Meru and generally about Tanzania. The whole crew was very kind to us and the food during both the hike and safari was just amazing. Mt Meru is a super recommended hike, worth doing just for the views from the summit, even if you are not planning to do the Kilimanjaro afterwards. In addition, during the first two days of the Mt Meru hike you walk among animals and have the support of a ranger. In the way we saw giraffes, buffaloes, warthogs and even a small chameleon. The night of the summit we saw the spectacular sunrise over Kilimanjaro, it was very cool. It was an amazing experience. We booked our safari only 2 weeks before leaving. We are with two families 7 persons) and read only good reviews about Humphrey and his team. We send him a text message and he replied immediately. We changed our plans several times. And Humphrey was so flexible and worked with us. Everything we asked him, he arranged it for us. He managed to get us into beautiful lodges and tented camps even though most of the accommodations were fully booked. Every time we send him a text message he replied immediately if it was about accommodation, food, price, artillery nothing bothered him. He just arranged it. When we met hem he turned out to be the most humble and nicest person we met. When we arrived he and his team picked us up from the airport and explained us what the plan was. He introduced his cook and driver to us and made sure we were comfortable before he left. His team was also top!! The cook omg Hamids food was sooo delicious and our driver Azizi was also patient with us. Even though he did not understand a word we were saying during the safari. If you are doubtful about booking a safari with Cubs DONT BE!! The experience we had and the service was absolutely unforgettable….
